Steuben County, NY

Environmental Capital LLC, a municipal financial advisory firm, announced today the placement of approximately 400,000 of Verified Emission Reductions ("VERS") of current and future vintages generated from a New York State landfill methane capture and destruction project owned and operated by the Steuben County NY. Environmental Capital LLC advised Steuben County on the development, structure and placement of the VERs. The VERs are registered on the American Carbon Registry (formally the GHG Registry). Google Inc was the primary purchaser of the VERs. The purchase of the VERs allowed the firm to reach its carbon neutral goals and support environmental-friendly efforts, said Alice Ryan, Google's Green Energy Project Manager.
